Two-time Paralympian Sophia Herzog won the bronze in the 100m breaststroke SB6. Herzog earned a silver medal in the same event at Rio 2016.
Ian Seidenfeld swept Denmark’s Peter Rosenmeirt to win gold in the men’s Para table tennis singles class 6. It was Team USA’s first Paralympic gold in the sport in 25 years. Seidenfeld’s father (Mitchell) won a silver medal at the Paralympic Games Atlanta 1996, and is the team’s current head coach.
Jessica Long won her fourth-straight gold in the 200m IM SM8. Long has now won 25 Paralympic medals. It’s the second most medals in Paralympic history for Team USA.
Liza Corso recorded a season-best time of 4:30.67 to claim silver in the women’s 1500m T13.
Kendall Gretsch pulled off an incredible photo-finish victory clocking in at 1:06:25 while Australian’s Lauren Parker, the reigning world champion, took silver at 1:06:26 in the women’s paratriathlon PTWC2.
The United States won silver in the Para-rowing PR3 mixed coxed four. Allie Reilly (bow), Danielle Hansen (seat 2), Charley Nordin (seat 3), John Tanguay (stroke) and Karen Petrik (coxswain) clocked in at 7:20.13.
