Paralympics Update: August 27th

Two-time Paralympian Robert Griswold broke the world record en route to winning a gold medal in the men’s 100m backstroke S8.

13-time Paralympic champion Jessica Long won the bronze in the women’s 100m backstroke S8. Long is competing in her fifth Paralympic Games and has won 24 Paralympic medals.

Roxanne Trunnell won Team USA’s first gold medal in the Grade I individual dressage for the first since the 1996 Paralympics (Atlanta).Trunnell scored 81.464%.

Mallory Weggemann won a gold medal in the women’s 200m individual medley SM7.

Nick Mayhugh won a gold medal in the men’s 100m T37. Mayhugh set a world record and Paralympic record en route to the first Paralympic medal of his career.

Raymond Martin took home a Paralympic silver in the men’s 400m T51.

Allysa Seely and Hailey Danz won gold and silver, respectfully, in the women’s paratriathlon PTS2. Seely made history at Rio 2016 by winning a gold medal in paratriathlon’s on the Paralympic program.

Brad Snyder won the men’s paratriathlon PTVI1 to become the Paralympic champion and the first-ever men’s triathlon gold medalist in Paralympic and Olympic history.

Three-time Paralympian Susannah Scaroni won the gold medal and broke the Paralympic record in the women’s 5000m T53/54. Tatyana McFadden won the bronze.
