FIBA: Team Canada Invites Several NBA Players

Team Canada is prepping for FIBA’s Olympic Qualifying tournament in a big way.

It’s no secret that Canada has been a hotbed for NBA players and the list of players invited reflects that. Fourteen NBA players have been invited along with one college player (Andrew Nembhard/Gonzaga).

The NBA players invited were:

Oshae Brissett (Indiana Pacers)
Dillon Brooks (Memphis Grizzlies)
Brandon Clarke (Memphis Grizzlies)
Luguentz Dort (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Cory Joseph (Detroit Pistons)
Trey Lyles (San Antonio Spurs)
Mychal Mulder (Golden State Warriors)
Kelly Olynyk (Houston Rockets)
Dwight Powell (Dallas Mavericks)
Tristan Thompson (Boston Celtics)
Andrew Wiggins (Golden State Warriors)

The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments feature the 16 best-placed non-qualified teams from the FIBA Basketball World Cup and two highest-ranked countries per region in the FIBA World Ranking.
