George Washington introduced new women’s basketball head coach, Caroline McCombs.
McCombs comes to George Washington after a stint with Stony Brook that saw her take the program to the NCAA tournament.
“Today is a dream come true,” said McCombs. “To have an opportunity to represent George Washington University as the women’s basketball head coach. I’m just thrilled and honored and privileged to be in this leadership role and I’m excited to get started with our young women.”
McCombs plans to bring in a system to emphasized defense first. “Our defense tells us if we win, our offense tells us by how much.”
McCombs was an assistant under former GW head coach and Hall of Famer Joe McKeown from 2010-12.
