Today might be the Final Four but Maryland was the biggest news outside of Indianapolis.
The Terps scored two major transfers when former Georgetown Hoyas big man, Qudus Wahab and Rhode Island transfer, Fatts Russell announced that they were heading to College Park. Both players fill major needs.
Wahab will bring much needed rim protection to Maryland’s strong perimeter defense. Big Ten teams with scoring big men had success against the Terps all season. Also a plus will be Wahab’s offensive rebounding. That will take pressure off of the perimeter guys.
Maryland has added Georgetown transfer big man Qudus Wahab, per source.
HUGE pickup for the Terps. The 6-foot-11 Wahab averaged 12.7 points, 8.2 boards, 1.2 blocks per game this past year.
Maryland looking like more and more like a Preseason Top 10 team if Wiggins comes back.

The point guard position was a rotating door all season before head coach Mark Turgeon decided to move Hakim Hart to the position. The need to a player that is used to playing point guard was needed. Not only do they get that in Russell but they also get a veteran presence.

Not only can Russell score (14.7 ppg) but he can distribute (4.5 assists) and rebound (4.5 rebounds).
It’s still early but the Terps roster could be very deep next season.
Here is the potential 2021-22 depth chart for Maryland men’s basketball.
Darryl Morsell or Galin Smith could even be added to this rotation.
