If it seems like American (2-2, 2-2) hasn’t played in a while it’s not just you. Due to Covid protocols, the Eagles haven’t played in the three weeks. Neither has their opponent.
Navy (8-1, 11-2) has gotten off to a great start that includes a win over Georgetown.
Earlier in the season, the two teams staged two epic battles in Annapolis. The first game was an 87-86 Mids win in overtime.
Stacey Beckton Jr. and Cam Davis staged an offensive duel with Beckton Jr. scoring 30 and Davis scoring 34.
In the rematch, the Eagles came up short in a game that was a lot closer than the 71-59 final.
Since the weekend loss, the Eagles have played two games and won them both against Loyola (MD). Both game were nail biters with AU winning the first one, 71-70. They completed the sweep with a 81-79 (3OT) win.
