Jalen Smith Taken 10th in the NBA Draft

Jalen “Stix” Smith was taken 1oth by the Phoenix Suns in last night’s NBA Draft.

“Jalen entered our program with a plan and put in the work to turn his dream into a reality. To be selected in the top-10 makes it that much more special. I have no doubt Jalen is destined for great things and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future,” said head coach Mark Turgeon.

Smith is Maryland’s first lottery pick since Alex Len was taken with the fifth overall pick by the Suns. He is the 13th top-10 selection in program history.

The Terps start their season November 25th when they face Old Dominion. Maryland won’t have a crowd and there will be some getting used to their not being a crowd. “Apparently the crowd noise, it’s piped in. It’s a little bit annoying,” said Turgeon.
