Charleston’s Riller Selected in NBA Draft

Three-time First team All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) player, Grant Riller (College of Charleston), was selected in the second round on last night’s NBA draft.

Riller was selected with the 56th pick by the Charlotte Hornets. Riller is the 25th player from a CAA member taken in the NBA Draft and the fourth player in Charleston history to be drafted.

Riller is second in points in school history and third in the CAA. In 2018, Riller was the CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

The conference hadn’t had players drafted in consecutive drafts since 2009-2011. Eric Maynor, Larry Sanders and Charles Jenkins picked in three straight drafts.
