George Mason has been selected to finish 10th in the Atlantic 10 this season. Most experts feel like the conference will be a multi-bid league this season.
For the first in the program’s A-10 history, George Mason had two players name to the preseason all-conference team.
AJ Wilson (R-Sr) and Javon Greene (Sr) were selected 3rd team all conference. Wilson was also selected to the conference all-defensive team.
Last season, Wilson was ranked in the top-60 nationally in offensive rebounds/game (2.9) and was ninth in the A-10 in overall rebounding (7.4 rpg).
“For AJ, this is fitting recognition for his continued maturation into a complete player,” head coach Dave Paulsen said. “Last season he became increasingly comfortable scoring in a variety of ways for us and also was able to make a tremendous impact on the defensive end of the floor. I’m looking forward to watching him take that development to another level during his senior season.”
Greene led the Patriots in scoring (13.8 ppg), assists (2.6 apg) and steals (1.8 spg). He ranked sixth in the A-10 in steals per game.
George Mason also announced that there will be a limited number of fans available at games this season. Face coverings that meet CDC guidelines will be required at all times along with proper social distance markers throughout the arena, assign seating in pods, and delegated entrances to minimize traffic upon entry.
