Judge Tosses Out Nickens, Brantley case

Two former Maryland basketball players, Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley, accused the makers of the popular game, Fortnite, of using a dance move the two claimed they popularized. The dance is known as the “running man”.

U.S. District Judge Paul Grimm in Maryland ruled Friday that the Copyright Act preempts claims that Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley filed in February 2019 against Epic Games Inc.
