American’s Sa’eed Nelson was named Patriot League Player of the Year.
Nelson has had a special career at AU:
- American’s all-time leading scorer
- only active NCAA DI men’s basketball player 2,000 points/500 rebounds/500 assists (first Patriot League player to ever achieve this)
- averaged 18.4 points/4.8 assists a game this season
- 3rd in Patriot League history in scoring (2,094), ninth in assists (519) and second in steals (272)
Junior, Stacy Beckton Jr., was named to the Patriot League All-Defensive team and Third-Team all conference.
American will host the winner of Holy Cross/Bucknell on Thursday night.
