American face Loyola (MD) is pivotal Patriot League game
American University faces another big conference game tonight when Loyola (MD) comes to town. The Eagles (12-11, 8-4) are a half game behind Boston University for second place in the Patriot League. They Greyhounds (12-13, 4-8) are in eighth place but they’ve their last three games.
American has won three of their last four games. In the first meeting with Loyola, American came away with a 93-91 (OT) win. Sa’eed Nelson would lead six Eagles in double-figures with 21 points in the way. Loyola’s Andrew Kostecka scored 32 points that day. Kostecka has 13 games with 20 points or more this season including nine where he scored more than 25.

- If Nelson reaches the 2,000 point mark, he would only be the third Eagle to do so.
