Georgetown Tries to Get Back on Track Against Creighton
Coming off an 80-66 road loss to Villanova, Georgetown (11-6, 1-3 Big East) returns home trying to get back on track against 25th rank Creighton.
Qudus Wahab has become a major piece in the Hoyas arsenal. The freshman had a career-high 13 points against Villanova. His increased production is welcomed especially considering Omer Yurtseven’s drop in production during conference play. Yurtseven isn’t the only Hoya who has seen a dip since conference play has started. Leading scorer, Mac McClung, is shooting 17-52 (32.6%) in conference play.
The Hoyas are in one of four 1-3 teams in conference play.
Creighton (13-4, 2-2 Big East) is coming off a win at Xavier. The Bluejays are led by their three-guard offense. Marcus Zegarowski leads the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game.
Along with Zegarowski, Ty-Shon Alexander (16.0 ppg., 6.1 rpg.) and Mitch Ballock (12.6 ppg., 5.5 rpg.) have made 129 three-pointers. The trio of guards account for 59.3 percent of Creighton’s overall points.
