The Hoyas led by as many as 29 points in the first half before settling for a 53-26 lead at halftime. Six of the seven Hoyas that saw action in the first half scored, led by Mac McClung.

McClung scored in every way imaginable in the first half, finishing with 21 points in the first 20 minutes. Jagan Mosely pitched in with 9 points in the half, shooting 3-4 from the three-point line.

St. John’s showed some life showed some life coming out of the locker room, scoring the first 11 points of the half. The Hoyas would respond with a 7-0 run of their own, pushing the lead back up to 23 points.

But another Red Storm run would cut the lead to 60-47 on an Figueroa three pointer. St. John’s never got any closer than 13.
