Presidents Cup: Day 3 Foursomes

The momentum the United States had at the end of session two didn’t carryover to session three.

With the US Team in a desperate situation, was shocking that Tiger Woods the Captain didn’t have Tiger Woods the player in the afternoon foursomes.

Perhaps the most disappointing pairing was Patrick Reed and Webb Simpson… again. Woods stuck his neck out for Reed. He put him on this team despite all the controversy he caused during the last Ryder Cup. How has Reed repaid Woods? He caused a dust up at Hero World Challenge when he took a two-stroke penalty and didn’t hold himself accountable. Now, he’s been part of a pairing that is 0-3 and, frankly, they have been the biggest disappointment on the Presidents Cup.

Reed has looked like a lifeless blob alternating between apathy and self-loathing. Woods should be questioned for putting Reed/Simpson out there was session three. If Woods sat Reed for all of Day 3, no one would have blamed him.
