Cole Anthony Chooses UNC

ESPN’s number two rated player of the 2019 class, Cole Anthony (Oak Hill), has chosen to attend University of North Carolina.

Anthony, son of UNLV/NBA player Greg Anthony, will join Armando Bacot (IMG Academy) and Jeremiah Francis in Chapel Hill.

Anthony Harris (PVI, Fairfax, VA) is also visiting the University of North Carolina. Harris is currently rated 75th. Heels are also in the mix for Precious Achiuwa. The McDonalds All-American is ranked 16th in the ESPN 100.

North Carolina head coach, Roy Williams will also need to fill the void with transfers. Reportedly, North Carolina also has interest in Charleston Southern grad transfer Christian Keeling and William and Mary’s, Justin Pierce.

The Tar Heels style of play should help Anthony get off to a fast start. The uptempo style will allow him to put his game on full display from day one. There’s a possibility that Anthony’s impact on the floor could come faster than the departing Coby White.

North Carolina head coach, Roy Williams, will need to rebuild the Tar Heels on the fly if they want to compete for the ACC title. The Heels lost Luke Maye, Kenny Williams and Cam Johnson to graduation. White and Nassir Little entered their names into the NBA Draft.
