Georgetown football took the success of last season into their recruiting as they signed 16 players on National Signing Day. This is in addition to four players who signed during the early period.
The Hoyas were 4-2 in conference last season, tying Holy Cross for second place. It was their most successful in Patriot League conference play. “Credit to our senior class, said Georgetown head coach Rob Sgarlata. Our seniors that were graduating… great group …. they’ve been through some wars with us. Through some really tough years. They made the decision that they wanted to change the culture.”
With the nation’s capital as your backdrop, recruiting to Georgetown can has its advantages. “We’re in the nation’s capital. Beautiful campus. It’s one of the most popular schools in the country. We talk about 4 for 40 all the time,” said Coach Sgarlata. Four for 40 is one of the principles Coach Sgarlata has set for the program. It means a four year commitment to Georgetown football leads to a 40 year relationship that builds personal, professional, and career leadership. It acts as a great selling point to a university that preaches the true meaning of being a student athlete.
