Another good week for the Mookster! Hopefully you’ve been stacking that paper!
This week there’s only two games which can be the difference between a good playoff run and a great playoff run.
Lets get to it!
New Orleans (-3.5) vs Los Angeles Rams
The Saints looked human last week while the Rams looked like they turned the corner. Don’t get caught up by the “Error of Recency”.
Drew Brees and the Saints offense should be successful on offense if they control first down.
The Saints defense was even better. After giving up 14 quick ones, the Saints defense shut the door. That’s been underplayed all week.
The Rams beat a Dallas team that is led by a very average quarterback. Rams head coach, Sean McVay, will have to have his running game cranked up to keep the Saints offense off the field. Expect the Saints to make Jared Goff have to be the hero.
‘Nuff said…
New Orleans -3.5
Kansas City (-3) vs New England
The Chiefs are the new, hot video game. It’s has to be better than the old game, right? Meh… look at Madden during the 90s. Some of those “improvements” weren’t too hot. That’s where we are with the Chiefs. On paper, they should beat the Patriots especially with the game being in Kansas City.
In the words of Lee Corso, “not so fast”. New England still has Tom Brady and he’s hard to bet against. Talk about the Patriots defense all you want but the Chiefs defense isn’t exactly the Steel Curtain. I love the Patriots running game and short passing game this weekend. They will control the clock and shorten the game. It won’t resemble the first time they played this season.
New England +3
Playoff Record: 5-2-1
