The Capital City Go-Go got their third win in a row 128-112 over the Delaware Blue Coats.
Rookie, Troy Brown Jr. and, Team USA participant, Chasson Randle led the Go-Go in scoring. They are also the reason why fans should make their way down to Congress Heights.
The NBA G-League is a transitional minor league even somewhat more than Major League Baseball. Players are called up to the parent team and could be there for one game, a road trip or extended time. This means the roster is always somewhat influx.
With the Capital City Go-Go, we’ve seen that. Troy Brown Jr. started out with the Wizards and has bounced up and down a bit lately. Randle started with the Go-Go then was with the Wizards back down to the Go-Go and then to Team USA before returning to Capital City.
The beauty of the Go-Go, and the NBA G League as a whole, is you’ll get to see these players in a more prominent role. Brown Jr. spoke a couple of weeks ago about is role with the Wizards as more of an “active defensively guy”. With the Go-Go, he gets a chance to show the fans why the Wizards took him in the first round. Because he is getting significant minutes and playing a major offensive role, Brown Jr. has excited fans and showed what he can bring once he’s an established NBA player.
Randle has done the same. The NBA G-League has given Randle the opportunity to play in both the NBA and for USA Basketball. It’s this type of opportunity that will serve the NBA, players and fans in a positive fashion. The talent development in the NBA G-League will continue to mature as the league gets older.
One of the places that fans can see future talent now is in Congress Heights. Fans need to get there… now.
