On December 16th, longtime coach, Lou Henson, will be honored by the Fighting Illini.
Illinois faces New Mexico State that night at the United Center.
Henson had a 423-224 at Illinois that included a trip to the Final Four in 1989. He led the Illini to 15 postseason appearances and eleven 20 wins seasons.
Prior to his stint at Illinois, the 1955 New Mexico State graduate, coached at his alma mater. Henson amassed a 289-152 record and led them to a Final Four appearance in 1970.
