Georgetown’s new coach, Patrick Ewing, announced his coaching staff today.
Louis Orr, Robert Kirby and Akbar Waheed will be joining Ewing at Georgetown. All three bring a lot of experience.
- Orr was the head coach at Seton Hall from 2001-2006 and Bowling Green from 2007-2014.
- Kirby has been an assistant for 33 years including a previous stint at Georgtown and is known as a strong recruiter.
- Waheed is a holdover from the previous staff. Before joining Georgetown, he served as an assistant at Hofstra.
When Ewing was hired the biggest question was what type of staff would he put together. Many pundits felt like he needed to have experience and a strong recruiter on his staff and he accomplished that today.
