Atlantic 10: Patriots gear up for stretch run

George Mason sits in the middle of the conference but they’re only two games behind third place Rhode Island and Richmond. They are coming off of a 20 point victory over a shorthanded LaSalle team. All throughout the conference season, the Patriots have alternated wins and losses but you get a different feel from this Mason team.

The Patriots have a true low post threat in, Jalen Jenkins something we aren’t seeing in college basketball as much. Otis Livingston II and Marquis Moore provide the Patriots with the ability to penetrate and hit outside shots. As the season has progress, George Mason has become a much improved offensive team.

Tonight’s opponent, Davidson, also sits at 5-5 in the conference. The Wildcats had their 3 game losing streak snapped in a 70-59 loss to Rhode Island.

This begins a big four game stretch for George Mason. After tonight’s road game, they have three straight games at home against Fordham, Richmond and Rhode Island. Richmond and Rhode Island are ahead them in the standings.
