21st ranked Rhode Island finally played a game where a team gave them a challenge. Rhode Island was up by as much as 15 in the first half only to see Brown get within 5 in the second half. Brown only shot 38.7% from the floor but they made up for it on the boards by grabbing 16 offensive rebounds. But, Rhode Island held off a game Brown team in a the 79-72 win.
The Rams got big games out of Jared Terrell and EC Matthews. Terrell scored 18 points and Matthews had 17.
Duquesne used a big second half to defeat, in state rival, St. Francis (PA), 89-75. The Dukes hit 13 three pointers, shot 52.3% from the floor and got 23 points from Tarin Smith in the win.
