Overtime Elite Goes International

The Overtime Elite (OTE) league hopes to start in the fall and it took another step to their goal with the signing over Jean Montero.

Signing Montero was OTE’s first dip in the International market. Montero will be on loan from Spanish ACB team Gran Canaria. The 17 year old busted on the scene in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship at the age of 13. As a 15 year old, Montero averaged 15 points per game in the FIBA U17 World Cup.

For leagues like OTE and Professional Collegiate League (PCL) to get off the ground, getting young elite International players is a must because there won’t be enough American talent with the NCAA still being a major player was young talent.

Previously, the OTE signed Amen and Ausar Thompson (Class of 2022) and Matthew and Ryan Bewley in the (Class of 2023).
