George Mason: Simpkins and Tomlinson Named to Coaching Staff

Kim English continues to fill him coaching staff out as he added two coaches that will bring different perspectives in recruiting.

Duane Simpkins is a holdover from Dave Paulsen’s staff. The former Maryland Terrapin has deep ties to the Washington D.C. area. DC and it’s suburbs is one of the most division one talented areas in the country. Silverwaves Media named Simpkins as one of the country’s Top-50 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants in 2020.

As a player, Simpkins helped lead the Terrapins to three NCAA appearances, including two trips to the Sweet 16. He was a three year starter and finished his career with 1,123 points.

In Tomlinson, English adds a coach whose specialty is recruiting international talent. He served on Colorado’s coaching staff when English was there.

Tomlinson played for Colorado before playing professionally in Australia.
