Maryland Basketball: Nebraska Wrap Up

At this point in the season, any win by Maryland (12-10, 6-9) is an important win even when it’s ugly.

“That was a grinder,” said Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon.

The Terps would turn the ball over 17 times in their 64-50 win over Nebraska (5-13, 1-10).  Turgeon wasn’t pleased with the turnovers. “It’s frustrating.”

Aaron Wiggins led the with 21 points. With the game tied at 44, Wiggins closed the show scoring 12 of the Terps final 20 points. “It was a couple different mismatches when we run certain screens and we get their forwards on our guards and then with their little guards just being aggressive and get downhill,” said Wiggins.

Jairus Hamilton had a strong game scoring 15 points on 6-7 (3-4 from three) shooting from the floor.

When asked about the two teams playing again tomorrow night, Turgeon quipped “It’s beyond weird”.
