Georgetown Basketball: Butler Win Shows the Good and Bad

Georgetown’s 78-63 home win versus Butler should’ve put the Hoyas in the better mood but the win featured a mish-mosh of what’s been good this season and what’s been bad.

Good:
Three Point Shooting: The Hoyas were 11-22 from the three point line. Just as important, five different players hit threes. In today’s college basketball landscape, the three point shot is important for a team like Georgetown despite having three seven-footers on the roster.

1,000 Point Club: Jahvon Blair and Jamorko Pickett hit the 1,000 point mark on Saturday. No word how many times teammates hit the 1,000 point mark in the same game. Both players hit the mark on three pointers.

Bad:
Turnovers: Georgetown’s turnovers have been an issue since Patrick Ewing’s arrival. It’s hard to win when you turn the ball over 23 times so the Hoyas dodged a bullet. What might be even more disappointing is that Blair led the team in this dubious stat with nine. The Hoyas can’t have that type of performance from their senior guard.
