NFL Week 12 Picks

Miami Dolphins (-6.5) at New York Jets

Last week the Dolphins loss a game that was probably marked as an anticipated win. In the process, head coach Brian Flores benched Tua Tagovailoa. The rookie quarterback was struggling with the pressure brought on by the Broncos. With that being said, Flores going back to Tagovailoa tells you what he thinks about him. There’s no universal way to dealing with young quarterbacks. Some will say you might take confidence away from a young quarterback by doing that. Others will say that a quarterback, young or old, should be able to handle it. My answer is simple. A coach’s job is to do what’s best for the team. It’s obvious that Flores thinks that Tagovailoa can handle the benching. If he didn’t think that and still did it, then it’s a bad move. You see… there’s not one right answer.

The Jets are the Jets but it looks like they’ll have Sam Darnold back.

Pick: Jets +6.5

Las Vegas Raiders (-3) at Atlanta Falcons

How the Raiders react to the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs will be on full display on Sunday. Las Vegas will be heading East to play a dangerous three win team. If they are truly a playoff contender, they go to Atlanta and take care of business but it isn’t that simple.

The Raiders defense is the weak spot of this team especially the secondary and they are going against Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Calvin Ridley. The secondary can’t depend on any help from quarterback pressure because the Raiders struggle in that category also.

Expect for head coach Jon Gruden to try to shorten this game with their punishing running game.

Pick: Raiders -3

Cleveland Browns -7 at Jacksonville Jaguars
New Orleans Saints -6.5 at Denver Broncos
Los Angeles Rams -6.5 over San Francisco 49ers
