Crawford-Brook Preview

When Terence Crawford and Kell Brook step in the ring on Saturday night, it will pit two desperate fighters. By no means, is this the first fight between two big time fighters who are desperate for a signature win. What makes this fight interesting is they are desperate for different reasons.

Crawford is the poster child for when promotion companies can’t come together. In Crawford’s mind, he should’ve had an opportunity for a mega-fight with Errol Spence or Manny Pacquioa by now. To be fair, most media and fans feel the same way. Every time he steps in the ring, he puts that massive payday in jeopardy.

Not only does Crawford need to continue to win but he also needs to win impressively. That’s what makes his fight with Brook so intriguing.

Brook is no joke. He pressed Spence until he couldn’t take anymore punishment in the 11th round. Not only was it Brook’s second consecutive loss, in many ways Gennady Golovkin beat him twice. Let me explain. The damage Golovkin gave to Brook’s eye will always be an issue. It reared it’s ugly head in the Spence fight.

So how does Brook approach a champion who will be coming for him and the eye? Does he try to outbox Crawford or does he attack and try to get a stoppage.

That’s why this fight is must-see-tv. Both fighters are desperate for a win in a big way. Crawford wants this to lead to fight with Spence or Pacquiao in 2021. Brook is hoping the win solidifies a career that could put him in the Hall of Fame.

Prediction:

I have no doubt that Kell Brook will have his moments just like he had against Spence but Crawford is at the top of the pound-for-pound list. Brook’s heart will ultimately be his downfall.

He will open up in the middle rounds and Crawford will take advantage and end the fight in spectacular fashion.

Crawford will stop the fight in the 9th round.
