Whyte suffers crushing loss

It was bound to happen. Dillian Whyte was asked time and time again to take fights between promises of a chance at Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.

Today the clock struck midnight. After winning every round including knocking Alexander Povetkin down twice in the fourth round, Whyte suffered a one punch knockout.

“We have a clause,” explained Hearn. “And Dillian said as we were coming back from the ring: ‘give me that rematch, give me that rematch'”

Whyte’s loss opens up the door for Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua.

“I watched his fights and took into account that he was open to uppercuts, both from the right and the left. It was probably the best finish of my career,” said Povetkin.
