Wilder-Ortiz 2 Live Scorecard

Live Making the Cut Scorecard for Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz 2.

Round 1

The round started with both fighters pawing the jab. Midway through the round Ortiz landed a crisp left hook. Best punch of the round.

Ortiz has a cut but no one is sure where it came from. It isn’t in a bad spot.

Ortiz 10-9

Round 2

Wilder is a little more active, relative to the first round. Ortiz briefly had Wilder on the ropes but he missed a couple of shots. Interesting to see Ortiz is the one moving forward looking for the action. Wilder fighting conservatively.

Wilder 10-9

Round 3

Limited action but when there is action happening, it’s coming from Ortiz. He’s going to the body. He countered Wilder well with a straight left.

Wilder is showing a lot of patience but it’s letting Ortiz get comfortable.

Ortiz 10-9

Round 4

Once again, Ortiz gets Wilder’s back against the ropes. This time Ortiz lands. Now Ortiz is landing shot after shot. The early part of the round definitely belongs to Ortiz.

Wilder doesn’t land anything of significant. Threw a big right but that was blocked.

Ortiz 10-9

Round 5

Ortiz controlled the tenor of the round even though Wilder landed the best punch of the round. Don’t know if that was enough to win the round.

Ortiz 10-9

Round 6

Lennox Lewis is imploring Wilder to go to the body. Wouldn’t be a bad idea. We’ve seen the Wilder left jab a lot more in the first six rounds than imagined.

Wilder was busy enough that round to win it. No significant punches landed.

Wilder 10-9

Round 7

First thing Wilder did was go to the body. Is someone listening to the broadcast?

Wilder landed a good left hook and landed a pretty good right hand.

Wilder sits Ortiz down at the end of the round!!!

Ortiz doesn’t beat the count. It’s OVER!!!!!

Wilder retains his title. Bring on Tyson Fury!!!
