American Looks to Stretch Win Streak to 3

DC’s road warriors, the American Eagles (2-3), head to St. Francis where they look to win their third straight game. The Eagles are coming off wins over New Hampshire (74-70) and VMI (69-64).

American is led by their super sophomore, Sa’eed Nelson. Nelson leads the team in points per game (18.4) and assists (3.4). Transfer, Larry Motuzis is developing into a dependable second scorer. The junior has averaged 23 ppg 7 rebounds in the last two games.

Sophomore big man, Mark Gasperini, will miss his 6 straight game.

St. Francis (2-3) had their two game winning streak snapped by Louisville. Despite the 12 point loss to the Cardinals, the smaller Red Flash out-rebounded them 35 to 33.

St Francis has three players who average in double digits. 6′ 5″ Keith Braxton leads the team in both points (15.4) and rebounds (7.6). He’s shooting 50% from the field and 86.7% from the free throw line.
